The Return Bin Is Full: Why “Bad” Automotive Products Aren’t Always the Problem
Every week, the same pile ends up in our return bin.
A fleet manager sends back an Escort radar detector that “died” on day three. A shop owner returns a bug deflector for the 2025 Silverado 2500 with a gap you could slide a fingernail into. A contractor swears his programmable torque wrench clicked at 80 ft-lb when he set it to 100. A customer insists his upgraded car stereo “has no bass.”
From the outside, these all look like product failures. Bad units. Bad batch. Bad supplier.

The products in that return bin weren’t all bad. The process was. Fix the process, and quality can be boring. That’s the point.
